Are You Afraid to Quit Drinking? Facing Your Fear of Sobriety

Are you Afraid to quit drinking? Does the thought of not drinking tomorrow, next week, at Christmas or ever, send  shivers down your spine or fill you with fear?

If so, then this special podcast recorded for you in time for All Hallows Eve, or Halloween is the perfect time to face our fears, look them in the eye and learn how to move past them.

At this time of year we’re scaring ourselves silly and doing things that perhaps we wouldn’t usually do, things that take us out of our comfort zone, things that leave us feeling exhilarated and alive.  We’re  facing our fears, doing things that terrify us on purpose, pushing past the scary feelings doing it anyway and it feels great!

Yet when it comes to quitting drinking, or doing anything new or different in our lives, we allow fear to hold us back instead of propelling us forward like we do on Halloween.

I did that for the longest time, even though I wanted to quit drinking, when I thought of sobriety I felt afraid. Perhaps you do too. After all, if drinking has been such a huge part of your life, the thought of never drinking again, ever, can be terrifying.
