This week’s podcast is a long time coming and I’m so excited to share it with you all – finally! As you know, my husband is my wonderful web designer, graphic designer, podcast and video editor and photographer. He is also the inspiration behind my own decision to quit drinking and my rock solid sober support.
Together, we celebrated four years of sobriety at the end of March this year and had planned to do this podcast in April. Then, as I have been sharing recently, my husband had a stroke and so began another stage of recovery in our lives.

It’s been a slow process of healing but we’re getting there and I should point out here that thankfully, my husband’s stroke was a mild one and he is much, much better but he still has some issues to overcome such as walking and balance and concentration. I was so happy that he was feeling strong enough to sit down and chat with me about his sober journey for you all.
We talk about the times leading up to the decision to quit, the atmosphere at home and the underlying fear he had which led him to take the step to sobriety.
My husband also shares how he got through the early days and the positive changes he made in his lifestyle and day to day living thanks to his freedom from alcohol.
In this episode
Why my husband stopped drinking when he did and how he did it.
How my husband feels on a day to day basis now he is sober and how he changed his whole day with really inspiring results.
My husband explains that he didn’t immediately feel better after quitting but shares what motivated him to keep going anyway.
Why my husband is grateful to be sober and how it is helping him recover from a stroke
And, in his own practical, no-nonsense down to earth way, hear my husband’s words of advice if you need some support and guidance to start your own journey to alcohol-freedom.
