What are you choosing really is a podcast episode that follows on from last week’s podcast and also expands on a newsletter I sent out last week.
This is obviously something that I have been thinking about a lot as I felt inspired to write this podcast after having my own Aha moment regarding doing something that I really, really want to do but for some reason hadn’t being doing it, not consistently and with mindful purpose and intention anyway, so of course I wasn’t making any progress!

And, I can tie it all into why it took me so long to quit drinking, why I often start something but never finish it. It also explains why I have a really organised cupboard!
I explore why it is that we so often push our dreams and desires to the bottom of the list and whether intentionally or not, we choose to do something, anything, other than the things we really want to do.
I look at the reasons why we put off doing the things we most want to do, the things that really light us up and bring us joy and explore what’s really going on underneath when we come up with these reasons, or are they excuses?
It doesn’t matter if it’s quitting drinking, writing a book, learning to skate or starting an exercise practice, why are our excuses so often stronger than our desires and why do we let them take over?
This episode is taking an honest look at ourselves without judgement and asking a serious question. While it might be painful to look at it, once we know what is going on behind the scenes, under the surface we can then do something about it.
You can of course do something about it and it starts with one simple thing…..
In this episode
What led me to this revelation and asking the questions I ask.
Why being curious about ourselves in this way is really powerful and allows us to lay everything out and look at it without fear or judgement.
Some of the excuses we use to trick ourselves into thinking that it’s not the right time, or I don’t deserve this, and how to move past them.
The real reason I wasn’t choosing myself and why it might be true for you too
The one thing simple that you can do right now which will immediately lift you up and help you feel like you’re already on track.
